Mrs. Mary I. Schlaefer, 82, of 136 W. Main St., Campbellsport, died Wednesday, April 29, 1987, at Americana Healthcare Center here.
She was born Aug. 4, 1904, in Dane County, to Peter and Margaret Michaels Bell. She married William Schlaefer on Aug. 29, 1928, at St. Mathias Catholic Church, Town of Auburn.
Mrs. Schlaefer and her husband owned Schlaefer Hardware since 1943. She was a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church, Campbellsport, and the church's Christian Mothers and Altar Society. She was a member of Brown Bell American Legion Auxiliary and St. Lawrence Parents Guild.
Survivors include her husband; four sons, Leo of West Bend, William of San Jose, Calif., Mark of Campbellsport and Philip of Orlando, Fla., two daughters, Mrs. Larry (Dorothy) Schoofs of Germantown and Mrs. Richard (Denise) Miniskey of West Covina, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mr. Gertrude Diderrich of Oconomowoc and Mrs. Emil (Dorothy) Shelendick of Elmwood Park, Ill. Preceding her in death was one brother.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Twohig Funeral Home, Campbellsport, and at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew's Catholic Church. Campbellsport. The Rev. Gerald Schmitz will officiate. Burial in the parish cemetery will follow.
Friends may call Sunday from 3 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to St. Matthew's School.
