William G. McGladrie, 2304 Amelia Ave., died Tuesday evening in Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where he had been a surgical patient. His widow is the former Ruth E. Ritsch.

Born in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, son of the late Andrew and Henrietta Tennant McGladrie, he served as quality control supervisor for the Fitchburg Coated Paper Products Corp. for 11 years, prior to retirement in 1975. A graduate of Central High School, he was previously employed by the former Capital Records Corp.

He served as an Army sergeant in World War II and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Clark's Summit, where he was an elder with the position of high priest. Active in the Bo Scouts of America, he was also affiliated with the Boys' Club and the American Red Cross.

Also surviving are a son, Wayne, Sprinville, and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, David, and a daughter, Wilma Elaine Allen.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Clark's Summit, with Bishop Bartholomeus Herbert and President Frederick Alderks presiding. Interment, Shady Lane Cemetery, Chinchilla.

Viewing, at the Howard J. Snowdon Funeral Home, 1810 Sanderson Ave., Friday, 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. The bod will lie in state in the church Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
