Mr. Thomas A. Ryan, age 81 of Saugus, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 31st, surrounded by loved ones. He was the beloved husband of the late Margaret (Barrett) Ryan.
Born in Medford and raised in Somerville, Mr. Ryan was the son of the late Charles and Helen (O'Day) Ryan. He was a retired mechanic for the City of Somerville. Tom enjoyed his retirement years spending time with and making beautiful memories with his family. Tom was the epitome of a family man, he was kind hearted and touched the hearts of all who knew him.
Tom was the cherished father of Staceyanne (Ryan) Castrini and her late husband William Castrini, Jennifer Ryan and long-time companion Serge Dorleans , Brenda (Ryan) Johns and her husband Stephen Johns, Daniel Ryan and Jane Fabiano. Tom was predeceased by his loving sons, Thomas Ryan Jr. and Dennis Ryan.Tom was an adoring grandfather to 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren whom he loved deeply. Tom is survived by his loving sister and brothers Virginia Barnes of Kentucky, William Ryan of New Hampshire and Stephen Ryan of California. Tom was predeceased by his sisters Jean Doughty, Patricia Robinson and brothers Charles Ryan, Richard Ryan, John Ryan, James Ryan and Kenneth Ryan. Tom had many nieces, nephews, in-laws and chosen family that he loved dearly.
Tom will be missed terribly by those who cared for him during his illness Marilyn Silverman, Irene Manning, Donna Hopkins- Jones and Paula Noone.
