A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Saturday, October 30th at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Valley City. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 29th from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at St. Catherine's Catholic Church. A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 PM Friday evening at the church. Inurnment will be in St. Catherine's Catholic Cemetery, Valley City, ND.

Michele Ann Neurauter was born on November 18, 1954 to Harry and Eva Neurauter. Michele attended school, and was confirmed in faith, at St. Catherine's Catholic School/Church. Michele attended St. Catherine's from Kindergarten through 9th grade and then attended Valley City High School for grades 10-12. Michele missed much of her sophomore year after becoming ill with rheumatic fever. This illness was the beginning of her life-long battle with heart disease. Michele graduated from Valley City High School in 1973. Following graduation, Michele attended Valley City State College where she earned an Associate's Degree and also where she met the love of her life.

Michele married Robert 'Bob' Green on July 31, 1976. Michele called him her "Bubba" and they did everything together. Michele loved her Bubba so much, she married him twice when they renewed their marriage vows as part of their 30th wedding anniversary celebration. Michele and Bob spent their careers helping and educating children in many different communities including McVille, ND, Finley, Milnor, Bellingham, MN, Veblen,SD and Hillsboro, ND. In each of these communities, Michele developed friendships that stood the test of time and distance. Michele and Bob also spent their lives providing a loving and safe home for many, many furbabies over the past 45 years. Each of these animals lived their best life as a Green fur kid.

Michele was famously known for keeping in touch with friends and family. At each family gathering, when her brother and sister-in-law from out of state could not be present, Michele made sure to bring their pictures to the gathering so the whole family could be together. Family gatherings, big and small, were some of what she enjoyed most in her life. Michele showed her love of others through phone calls, cards, gifts, FB posts, text messages, and by sharing her culinary skills. Michele made the best potato salad, deviled eggs, and pickled beets and she enjoyed blessing others with gifts of food. She is also known to send birthday and anniversary wishes to others by saying "I hope someone takes you to the DQ for a special treat".

Michele will forever be remembered for her great sense of humor, outgoing personality, zest for life, as an avid fan of the FM Redhawks, as the ultimate thrift store shopper, her fighting spirit and strong Christian Faith. Michele was so happy to move back "home" to Valley City after retirement so she could again attend Mass at her favorite church, St. Catherine's. Michele's fighting spirit, love for her Bubba, and her strong faith remained and provided her with strength and peacefulness she needed as she passed from this life into the Kingdom of God.

Michele is survived by her husband of 45 years, Bob Green; Brothers: Edward (Carolyn) Gruber, San Antonio; Dave (Vallie) Gruber, Albuquerque; Joe (Lisa) Neurauter, Valley City; Sister: Patty (Leland) Miller, Fargo; Sisters-in-law: Cathy Gruber, Fargo; Karen Kelly, Cheyenne WY; Laurel Neurauter, Kathryn.
