He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted wife, Linette Jones; two daughters, Makeda Houston-Battle (James Jr.), Rashida Houston; two sons, James H. Jr. and Matthew J. Houston; one granddaughter, Ayanna Battle; a loving mother, Selma Nails; brother, Tyrone Houston (Lealer); mother-in-law, Barbara Finley; father-in-law, James Bacon (Priscilla); three sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Remains rested at March Funeral Home, 2110 East Laburnum Ave., where viewing was held on Thursday, December 13, 2007, from 9am to 8pm, and where family received friends from 6pm to 7pm. Funeral service was held Friday, December 14, 2007, 11am at St. Paul's Baptist Church, 4247 Creighton Rd. Interment Quantico National Cemetery.
