Nancy Elizabeth Ivey Cox, 83, former resident of West Kirksey Drive, widow of Robert Cox, Sr. to whom she was married for nearly 60 years, passed away Sunday, October 31, 2021.
Born February 18, 1938, in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late James Carl and Emilie Viola Hudson Ivey. A 1956, graduate of Greenwood High School, she was also a long-time volunteer at the Charleston Naval Hospital from 1968-1974, and a volunteer with United Ministries in Greenwood from 1997-2005.
A former member of Fraser Presbyterian Church, she attended Woodfields Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Robert "Bobby" and wife Terri Cox of Greenwood, and Richard Barry Cox of Rockledge, FL; four grandchildren, Jacob T. Cox of Winston-Salem, NC, Sarah E. Cox of Jacksonville, FL, Christopher R. and wife Debra Cox of Palm Bay, FL, and Anthony Wayne "Tony" and wife Daniela Cox of Virginia Beach, VA; and two great-grandchildren, Henry Foster Cox and Evelyn Joann Cox.
She was predeceased by a brother, Lonnie Richard Ivey.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm Friday at the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Debra Cox and Rev. James Rodgers officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Andy Bell, Jacob Cox, Tony Cox, Chris Cox, Brad Maness and Ted Strickland.
