Shirley was a member of the Port Matilda Methodist Church. She loved cooking for the numerous family dinners that were shared over the years and was especially well known for her delicious homemade pies that she would bake. She enjoyed spending time on her porch swing, watching the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers, and playing cards. She looked forward to attending her grandchildren's sporting events and being their #1 cheerleader. More than anything, she loved the time that was spent with her family, and will be remembered for the devoted wife, caring mother, and adoring grandmother that she was.
There will be a public viewing held on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, from 10am-noon, at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte. Funeral services will follow at noon with Pastor Sam Reese officiating. Burial will immediately follow at the Port Matilda Presbyterian Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Wynwood House of State College and 365 Hospice for the compassionate care that they provided for their mother and grandmother.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Shirley's memory to the Worth Township Class Reunion, 3334 Pamela Circle, State College, PA 16801.
