She had open-heart surgery on October 20th and had a successful operation. She shortly passed away, at age 52, just a few days after recovering from surgery at Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, UT.
David met Carla on a blind date with friends in Georgia. Five days later, they eloped in Ringgold, Georgia, July 9, 1990. One year after that, they were sealed in the Los Angeles Temple. They were together on this earth for 31 years and will be reunited in the celestial kingdom.
Carla was an amazing mother, wife, grandmother, and a friend. She loved sewing, arts and crafts, genealogy, and serving in the temple. She came from humble beginnings, bringing us love and happiness wherever she could. She was as involved as she could be with her family and other loved ones. As she raised her kids, the friends of her kids would soon come to call her, "Mama French". She was the cool mom, and the mom that was there to take care of all of the other kids while on trips for school functions and other activities.
Everyone that she knew, she loved them fiercely. The little things in life were important to her and they all added up to the enormous love that she gave. Her smile was that little bit of sunshine that everybody needed and her laugh was infectious. To know Carla was to know what home felt like.
