Renae was the first of 5 children born to Orlo and Lila (Hart) Atkinson. She attended elementary school in Dieringer, junior and high school in Sumner, WA. She grew up on the Atkinson farm and was a member of 4-H, learning about animals and farming. Renae also enjoyed sewing and considered becoming a Home Economics teacher.

After her marriage and became the mother of 3 children, she decided to be a homemaker and provide a loving home for her family. She also became a foster parent to several boys. She was later employed at Northwest Traffic Associate for another ten years. During this time she met Henri Carnay and they married October 26, 1990.

Renae and Henri loved to travel the country and abroad. Henri died July 4th in Tacoma, WA.

Renae was a member of the Fuschia Club and a volunteer at Heritage Quest, in Sumner.
She enjoyed continuing her father's work on the family genealogy. She was instrumental in establishing the "Historic Atkinson Farmhouse" on the Pierce County Historical Registry, as a monument to homesteaders from earlier times.

She is predeceased by her parents and husband, Henri. Renae is survived by 1 son, 2 daughters, 3 grandchildren, 1 brother, 3 sisters, and many cousins and other relatives.

All together she has had an exciting life and is now on the next adventure.

Services will be held from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at The Attic (1003 Main Street, Sumner, WA) on Saturday, November , 2021.
