Stella Benson, 97, a resident of Valley View Village, 2571 Guthrie Ave., died of a heart ailment there Friday. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Merle Hay Chapel with interment in Merle Hay Mausoleum.
Mrs. Benson was born in Kansas and lived in Madrid before coming to Des Moines in 1963. She was a retired nurse and a member of Christian Church in Osceola.
Survivors include a son, Milton of Peoria, Ill., and two grandchildren.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. Monday until service time at Merle Hay Funeral Home.
