Henry came from a very prominent family. On his mother's side, the Wolcotts, Henry was the 2nd great grand-nephew of Oliver Wolcott, one of the Signers of the Declaration of Independence, and the 3rd great-grandson of Roger Wolcott (1679-1767) Colonial Governor of Connecticut from 1751 to 1754. His 5th great-grandfather, Henry Wolcott, came to America in 1630 aboard the Mary and John, from the port of Plymouth, England. He was a direct descendant to King John of England (1166-1216) through his 12th great-grandmother Matilda de Cornwall (1388 -1431), daughter of Richard de Cornwall, Earl of Cornwall and Baron of Burford, England, a member of the House of Plantagenet. Henry Wolcott Balestier passed away at the Maverick House in Boston, Massachuesetts from Blights Disease on the 20th of August, 1870.
