James Porter Ware, age 86, a McMinnville, TN resident and Warren County, TN native, was born July 30, 1935, and died October 27, 2021 at his residence following an extended illness.

He was a former lineman with Caney Fork Electric, a retired electrical operator with AEDC, a Tennessee Army National Guard veteran, a member of Westwood Church of Christ, and the son of the late Allen Bryan and Cleo Curtis Ware. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Zelda Fay Wallace, Edith Ware, Edna Wanamaker, and Nova June Myers, and brothers, William Ware, Leon Ware, Joe Ware, and Paul Ware.

Mr. Ware is survived by his wife of 59 years, Andrea Frances Krauch Ware of McMinnville, TN; daughter, Amy Vonda Ware and fiancΓ©, David Crowe of McMinnville, TN; four grandchildren, Kade Porter Redmon of McMinnville, TN, Kansas McCall Redmon of Cookeville, TN, Bret Tyler Ware and Ben Taylor Ware both of Murfreesboro, TN; brother, Ova Gene Ware of Michigan; sisters, Betty Ware of McMinnville, TN and Mary Jane (Sylvester) Skierkowski of Murfreesboro, TN; and sisters-in-law, Maxine Ware of Nashville, TN, Arlene Ware and Jean Ware both of McMinnville, TN.

James was an avid gardener, had a vineyard, made wine, and played the harmonica. He enjoyed retirement and spending time with the grandchildren. He was an outstanding football player at Central High and was awarded the John High MVP in 1955. He played on the championship football team at Ft. Knox, KY while serving in the National Guard in 1957.

Per his wishes, he will be cremated, and no services are planned.
