Richard Grimes Collins Jr., 85, of Ruther Glen passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Mary Mace Collins; three children, Donna Collins Goodrich and her husband, Carlos Fillmore Goodrich, Rhonda Collins Booker and her husband, William Jeffrey Booker, Richard Grimes Collins, III and his wife, Cynthia Ausley Collins; eight grandchildren, Katie Goodrich Corts, Callie Elizabeth Goodrich, Lindsay Booker Muldrow, William Collins Booker, Alexander Jeffrey Booker, Grayson Collins Camp, Sarah Jane Collins and Richard Grimes Collins, IV, and two great grandsons, Charlie and Sellars Corts. Richard retired from Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company with 35 years of service and enjoyed his retirement years working on his farm and spending time at the beach and river. He attended Bowling Green Baptist Church. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, October 29, 2021 at Storke Funeral Home in Bowling Green, Virginia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bowling Green Baptist Church.
