ST. HELENA — Louis Camello Bettini, life time resident of St. Helena, died Thursday at the St. Helena Hospital at the age of 82.

He was born April 28, 1901, in San Francisco to Stephen and Anna Bettini and moved with his family to St. Helena where he grew up and attended schools. He married the former Rose Poncetta July 6, 1932 in Reno and they made their home in St. Helena. Mr. Bettini worked for a time in the local wineries and for Harold Smith before working at Mare Island for eighteen years, retiring in 1966.

He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a member of the St. Helena Catholic Church.

Surviving are his wife, Rose of St. Helena; one daughter, Doreen Quaglia of St. Helena; one brother, Joseph of Calistoga; two sisters, Millie Greenhow of Napa and Florence Smith of St. Helena; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Catholic prayer services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Morrison Funeral Chapel in St. Helena. Entombment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, St. Helena. Friends may call for visitation at the funeral chapel this evening until 9 p.m.
