Mike Edward Clark, 68 of Virden was welcomed into God's Arms after a courageous 18 month battle fighting MDS and Leukemia on Sunday, October 24, 2021 with his loving family by his side at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Though out his fight, Mike always kept his faith, had a smile on his face and never lost his sense of humor or his ability to make people laugh.

He was born March 9, 1953 in Du Quoin, IL son of James Elmer and Edith Alice (Ferguson) Clark. He married Pam (McAllister) Clark on November 8, 1986 in Virden and she survives his passing.

Mike had worked 20 years at the Freeman United Coal Mine Crown II and then spent the next 20 years at the United States Postal Services before retiring in 2017. He had attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and was a member of St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church in Chatham. He loved music, especially the Beatles and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Most of all, Mike loved his family and was very active with their activities, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his loving wife, Mike is survived by his sons Logan (Bri) Clark of Plattsmouth, NE, Cory (Kelcie) Cain of Lake St. Louis, MO and Jacey (Stephanie) Cain of Lake St. Louis, MO; daughters Robyn (Andy) Cox of Thayer, April (Fiancé Roger Johanson) Clark of Bettendorf, IA, Linsey (Brian Lyttaker) Cain of Williamsville, IL and Carly (Fiancé Mike Boblitt) Hinds of Chatham; grandchildren Austin, Gavin, Grace, Greta, Jerzi, Calin, Zoey, Ella, Lane, Levi, Ollie and Koen; brothers Jimmy Dale (Frances) Clark of Springdale, AR, Larry (Vickie) Clark of Du Quoin, IL, sister Connie (Joe, Sr.) Brandibas of Iuka, IL and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Chuck Clark and half-brother Jack Clark, half-sisters Ruby Oliver, Gladys Oliver and Esther Little and nieces Norma, Becky, Cindy, Tammy and Cheryl Clark.

Entombment will be held at Virden Cemetery following the Funeral Mass.
