Donna Rae Fowler, age 78, of Neoga, IL passed away at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Hilltop Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by her family.
Funeral services honoring her life will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 29, 2021 at Schilling Funeral Home. Burial will follow at French Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. The family requests social distancing during the visitation and service.
Donna was born on September 16, 1943 in Mattoon, IL the daughter of Alvin Maxwell Colbert and Mary Ann (Molno) Colbert. She married Joel Franklin on September 20, 1986. He preceded her in death on September 29, 2010.
Survivors include her children, Brenda (Jeff) Fred of Effingham, IL, Wayne (Lora) Foster of Neoga, IL, and Danielle (Eric) Swango of Lerna, IL; grandchildren, Kaylee (Brandon) Loy of Effingham, IL, Jennifer Fred of Effingham, IL, Jessica (Chris) McWhirter of West Liberty, IL, Billy Foster of Neoga, IL, Erica Swango of Lerna, IL, and Jayden Swango of Lerna, IL; six great-grandchildren; and 2 nieces and 2 nephews. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Larry Colbert.
Donna most cherished time spent with her family and camping with Joe, family, and friends. She valued her church family at Central Community Church. She was an avid reader, enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and cooking. Donna was a gentle soul, who was always kind and generous to everyone. She will be greatly missed.
