Per an obituary published in The Tacoma News Tribune (Tacoma, WA) on 4 Mar 1958, Archibald was born in Alexandria, Ontario, Canada, parents names not given.

I found Archibald rather accidentally as I was checking for his son, also named Archibald. This search grew out of photos I found in my maternal grandmother's oldest photo album of Jeannette McDonald Kenyon, daughter of the senior Archibald and sister to the junior Archibald.

The obituary confirms daughter Jeannette Kenyon of Lafayette, CA; 4 sons (James E with whom Archibald was living at the time of his death, Bernard E of Seattle, Ronald E of Portland, and Archibald H of Oakland, CA), a sister, Miss Cassie McDonald of Alexandria, Ontario, Canada; and granddaughter Eileen Kenyon of Yakima, WA, daughter of Jeannette.

Burial at "Seattle's Calvary Cemetery" is noted in the obiruary, allowing me to create this memorial.

Not stated in the memorial is Archibald's wife, Nellie E Deeny, birth name found in daughter Jeannette's CA Death Index. Per the 1930 Census (after Jeannette was married), Jeannette's father was born in Canada and mother in Iowa. A 1910 Census, in Whitehall, Jefferson County, Montana where Jeannette is age 9, shows her father as Archibald R McDonald, born "Canada Scotch" (also his parents) and her mother as Nellie E McDonald, born Iowa, parents born Ireland. Brothers Ronald E, James E Archibald (Jr), and Bernard round out this Montana Census and perfectly match Archibald's obituary.

After confirming I've found the grave of his wife, I will link Archibald to her and then see if I can locate his sons' graves to link them.

It has been an honor to create this memorial for Archibald, however unanticipated it was as a result of researching the life of his daughter, Jeannette McDonald Kenyon.
