Roger Lee Taylor, 76, of Stanley, passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at Winchester Medical Center.

He was born on August 23, 1945, in Luray, Virginia and was a son of the late Glen Owen Taylor and Elda Virginia Seal Taylor.

Roger retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) in 2005 as a supervisor, with 35+ years of service.

On Aug. 28, 1964, he married Juanita F. Hilliard Taylor, who survives.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two granddaughters, S. Nicole Taylor and her partner Kenny Deavers, and Stephanie Lee Taylor, both of Stanley; five great-grandchildren, Claire Cash, Bailey Cash, Laney Cubbage, Kenneth Deavers and William Lee Deavers; and two brothers, Granville Taylor of Lexington, Ky., and Larry Taylor of Luray. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Clark Taylor; a sister, Myrtle Somers; and a brother, Albert Taylor.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 27, at the Leake's Chapel Church of the Brethren in Stanley by Pastor Charles Turner and Pastor Jack Haddock. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Luray.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 26, at the church.
