Parents: William Owsley and Mary Sharp.

Data re Henry's parents: William Owsley (son of John Owsley (1757-1845) and Charity Barton (1760-1848)) born 9 April 1796, Johnson Co. Tennessee, married:
(1) ca 1815, in Tennessee, Mary Sharp, b. ca 1797, (daughter of Henry Sharp (1765-1848) and Elizabeth Moser (1769-1821)), died ca 1855;
(2) Sarah (Polly) Watson ca 1855-60, in Missouri, b. 26 June 1800, d. 13 June 1884, Johnson County, Missouri.

William Owsley and his family moved from Tennessee to Indiana and finally settled in Missouri. He was a Baptist preacher. William d. 11 Mar. 1875.

He was living in Van Buren County, MO in 1840. On 16 April 1846 in a wagon train that included his family and his wife's family (Enoch Cyrus), the group left Van Buren County and arrived at Yount, Napa County, California in late October 1846. [It is now known as Yountsville.] The family was living in Napa Valley in 1850, in Hot Spring Township [where Calistoga was developed by Samuel Brannan]through 1870, and by 1880 he had located in Knight's Valley Township, Sonoma County, where he worked as a tollgate keeper, living only with his Chinese cook, Ah Tim.

Children [Sarah]Jane and Enoch were bitten by rabid skunks near Yountsville, Napa Co., CA where they settled when first arrived in Napa Valley (he worked for George Yount; the area is now known as Yountsville) and were one of the first burials in the area (Yountsville Cem?).

Note: His parents also had a son Rev. Anthony Owsley who married Mahala Ann Jackson November 25, 1849 in Cass Co., MO. He died May 5, 1884 in Benton Co., MO. He is buried at the Lane Cemetery, Lincoln, Benton County, Missouri.

Children: Nellie May (6 Nov 1869), Charles Roscoe (13 Feb 1872), Grace (29 Dec 1883).
The Holton family was living 1880 in Oakland, Alameda County, California and 1900 in Selma, Fresno County, California where Edward was engaged in farming.
