Grace was born on September 1, 1929 in Burke County to the late Lee Chapman and Lola Watts Chapman. She was retired from Broughton Hospital and was a longtime member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Morganton. She was the rock of her family, who loved God, her children and her flowers. Grace always loved helping others.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Luther Wilson, four brothers; Horace, Frank, Lee and George Chapman, and two sisters, Lula Helms and Lela Cook.
Survivors include her three children; Barbara Ross of Morganton, Neal Wilson and wife Brenda of Valdese, and Doug Wilson and wife Vicki of Morganton. Also surviving are her grandchildren; Linda Wilson Carter(Chris), Alan Smith, Rebecca Smith, Amy Patton(Scottie), and Angie Fredell(Wesley) and six great-grandchildren; Elizabeth Smith McCombs, Ashley Ballard, Solomon Smith, Ansley Fredell, Ava Fredell, and Weston Fredell, and one sister, Iva Mace.
A crypt side service will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 11:00 AM the Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum, with Rev. Rocky Reese officiating.
