Carol Ann Byers, 70, of Ladson, S.C., formerly of Evansville, died Sunday, July 2, 2017. She was born on September 28, 1946, in Evansville, to the late Carl and Mary (Robinson) Rainey. Carol loved Allen with every part of her heart. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was an X-Ray technician at Welborn Hospital for 31 years and was very dedicated to her job and the patients she cared for. Her smile would let you know that everything would be ok. She loved being a preacher's wife and carried that title with such pride. She loved the Lord and wanted to share the love of Jesus with everyone she met. She served as VBS director for 25 years and planted seeds in a lot of children's hearts. She left a legacy with her children of serving and spreading Christ's love and salvation. She is where she has always longed to be, in the arms of the Savior.

Survivors include her husband Allen, five children, two brothers, 16 grandchildren; one great-grandson, in Evansville, Ind., Carson; and 15 great-grandchildren, in South Carolina.

The Celebration of Life Service will be Sunday July 16, 2017, at 2 p.m. at New Beginnings Christian Church, 10054 US 78, Ladson, SC 29456.
