Johnny J. Barfield, Sr., 65, of rural route Versailles, died Monday, Oct. 18, 2021, at his home.

He was born Sept. 19, 1956, in Jacksonville, the son of Cledus and Esther Six Barfield.

He is survived by one daughter, Amanda (Bob) Woelfel of Greenfield, three sons, Johnny, Jr. (Jennifer) Barfield of Mt. Sterling, Ethan Barfield (fiancée', Lisa Tanner) of Versailles, and Nathan Barfield of Clayton; the mother of his children, Pamela Gregory of Meredosia; eleven grandchildren; three brothers and one sister; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Lucas Arthur James Barfield; and one brother, Tommy.

Johnny was a lifelong farmer in Pike and Brown Counties. He loved hunting, fishing, playing cards, arrowhead hunting and mushroom hunting. He especially loved spending time with his grandkids.

Private graveside services will be held at Oakland Cemetery in Meredosia.
