Evelyn Louise Washam was also know as Wendy, Mom, Aunt Louise, and Mimi. She was known for having many jobs in her life and was talented in many ways. She worked for HEB for 15 years. The next several years she sat with individuals on hospice, whom she loved like family. In the years before her illness she helped manage a residential nursing facility. Most of all, she lived her entire life for her grandchildren whom she loved immensely.
Louise also loved her friends dearly and always made sure they knew she was there for support. Also, her plants were one of her favorite things to devote her time to. She could make a dead stick grow and flourish into a beautiful garden.
Louise is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Kathy Conaway and Alice Gentry, as well as two grandchildren, Daniel and Bryant Barber.
Louise leaves behind a daughter, Tammie Barber. Her grandchildren, Christopher and wife Mary Barber, Haylie Barber and three great grandchildren, Alyssa Jones, Michael DeMoss and Daniel Bryant Barber, and niece Krystina Gentry. She also leaves behind a host of other relatives.
Mimi, thank you for being the backbone of our family and always being a blessing in our lives.
Our family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses at the New Century Hospice for taking care of her and helping us through this time.
Memorial services in celebration of the life will be held at Harmony Christian Ministires, 1816 W Second Ave, Corsicana, TX at 10:00 am. Service will be officiated by John Barber.
