DIED—Mrs. Sarah Deffenbaugh aged, 73 years. Mrs. Deffenbaugh was one of the early pioneer settlers in Montgomery County. Her first husband's name was Mattox. Several children, the fruit of this first marriage are now living near Wayside Kansas. The widow Mattox joined hands to travel down life's pathway with Mr. Deffenbaugh, 25 years ago. The Marriage took place near Round Mound, and the wedding supper was eaten at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Emri Hendrixon. Mr. Deffenbaugh died a few years since but his life partner lingered in this world until the 26th day of January, 1898; at which time her Spirit took its flight into the unknown beyond. Her body was laid to rest in the Havana Cemetery.
