Destiny Hope Kling, 11, of Chatham, left us at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at St. John's Hospital.

Destiny was born October 16, 2009, in Springfield, the daughter of Walter Thomas Kling and Trisha Kay Dillon.

She attended school in the Chatham School District all her life and was currently in the 6th grade. Destiny had big dreams for her life, was caring, smart, and had a heart of gold. She loved helping people and being with her family, especially her sister, Ciara, who was her superhero and Destiny wanted to do everything that Ciara did. She was a spitting image of her mom (sass).

Destiny was very active. She worked out often in the gym in her garage, would make dance and YouTube videos with Bryan, enjoyed playing golf, gymnastics, and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. She liked extravagant things and enjoyed shopping, particularly at Target. Black Friday was her favorite time to shop. Destiny liked to sunbathe on her dad's fishing boat, travel to Florida with her grandma, make artwork and pottery, and bake. She also enjoyed writing and was currently writing a story.

Destiny never thought anybody was a stranger and enjoyed talking with people whether she knew them or not.

She was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Thomas Joseph Kling and maternal grandfather, Patrick Joseph Dillon.

Destiny is survived by her parents, Trisha (Bryan Parsons) Dillon of Chatham and Walter T. (Jessica Millburg) Kling of Springfield; grandparents, Linda (Dennis) Hicks of Buffalo and Barbara (Steve Yaezle) Kling of Lincoln; siblings, Ciara Hillyer of Chatham and Zachary Connell of Collinsville; stepsiblings, Peyton and Cohwen Atkins, both of Springfield; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, IL. Illinois COVID-19 guidance will be followed, requiring face coverings.

Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following the visitation.
