She was born August 8, 1932, in Paris, the daughter of the late Clinton and Frances (Malone) Brown. She married John Jay Dorothy Jr. on June 17, 1950, in Grandview, Illinois. He preceded her in death on February 8, 2020, after nearly seventy years of marriage.
Survivors include two daughters, Rebecca S. Moore and Deborah Scott both of Paris; four grandchildren, Bradley (Genevieve) Korte, Darrick (Kara) Korte, Logan Korte (Alyssa Camp), and Garrett Eveland; five great-grandchildren, Nolan, Reese, Gavin, Gabe, and Haisley Korte; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Korte; three sons-in-law, Raymond Moore, Dan Mohler, and Daniel Scott; five brothers, Albert, Eugene, Patrick, Bradley, and Warren Brown; a sister, Adelphia Needham; and an infant sister.
Mrs. Dorothy will be remembered as a caring but private person who was kind to children and enjoyed the simple pleasures in her life, such as cooking and caring for her home and family. Above all else, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
