Nina Jean Brown, 90, of Gans passed away at 9:50 am on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at her home in Gans, Oklahoma. She was born on December 24, 1930 in Gans, Oklahoma to the late Calvin (Bub) and Opal (Burchett) Crosslin. She grew up and graduated in Gans, OK. She retired in February 1993 from Gans Public School where she was a cook for 15 ½ years. Her entire life was dedicated to caring for her family and grandchildren. She loved baking, cooking and ensuring everyone was well fed and taken care of. She was married to the love of her life, James, for 74 years. Nina was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Jack Crosslin, Faye Tom Crosslin, Amos Crosslin, and O.R. (Bubber) Crosslin; sisters Juanita Chandler, and Ramona Howell. Survivors include her children, Diana & Joe Gunter, Daryl & Deana Brown, Dennis & John Wigley-Brown, and Darla Gragg & Stacy Shelton; grandchildren Steven & Manci Gunter, Robin & Matt Whitekiller, Jayme Gunter, Derek & Tara Brown, Jeannette & Jason Miller; great grandkids Ty (Erin), Garrett, Jacklyn (Dyllan), Joshua , Bayli (Matt), Blayke (Alyssa), Brylee (Aysen), Shane (Stephanie), Trent (Crystal), Drayden (Madi), Drextyn (Brittany), Dauslyn, Drantly, Zoey, Tori, Karina. Her great-great grandbabies Peyton, Ryker, Hadley, & Rynli; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends whom she loved very much.
Visitation for Nina will be held on Monday evening, Oct 18, 2021, from 4-7:00pm in the Sequoyah Memorial Chapel of Forever Memories Funeral Service, 463505 Hwy 101, Sallisaw, OK. Her Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at Gans Bible Church, Gans, OK with Daryl Brown and Bill Epps officiating. Interment will follow in the Gans Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Derek Brown, Drayden Brown, Drextyn Brown, Drantly Brown, Blayke Haggard, Steven Gunter, Ty Gunter, John Wigley, Matt Whitekiller. Honorary bearers are the Men of Gans Bible Church, Joey Gunter, Butch Acton, Tony Gray, and Chris Gray.
