Diana Lou Gunter, 72, of Gans passed away at 11:24 am, Friday, October 29, 2021, at Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Diana was born on August 23, 1949, in Sallisaw, Oklahoma to James Louis Brown and the late Nina Jean (Crosslin) Brown. She grew up in Gans and graduated from Gans High School in 1967. She was the City Clerk in Gans for 16 years and retired from the Cherokee Casino as a Vault Cashier. Diana devoted her entire life to her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was of the Assembly of God Faith. Her hobbies included embroidering, cooking, gardening, and enjoying her time with her children and all of her grandbabies. She was married to the love of her life, Joe, for 54 years.

Diana was preceded in death by her mother Nina Jean (Crosslin) Brown and her great-grandson Karsten Shane Whitekiller.

Survivors include her husband, Joe Gunter, Jr. of the home; her father, James Brown; siblings, Daryl & Deana Brown, Dennis & John Wigley-Brown, Darla Gragg & Stacy Shelton; brother and sister in law, Gary & Shirley Gunter; children, Steven & Manci Gunter, Matt & Robin Whitekiller, Jayme Gunter; grandchildren, Steven Ty Gunter (Erin Clegg), Garrett Lewis, Jacklyn & Dylan Frazier, Joshua Moore, Bayli & Matt Corley, Blayke Haggard (Alyssa Hale), Brylee Haggard (Aysen Capps), Shane & Stephanie Whitekiller, Trent Whitekiller (Crystal Brewer); great-grandbabies Peyton and Paxton (who are due in December), Ryker, Hadley, Rynli and Jackson (who is due in March); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends whom she loved very much.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, November 4, 2021, at Gans Assembly of God under the direction of Forever Memories Funeral Services of Sallisaw.
