Thomas A. Fisher, 85, of Bristol, died at 12:56 am, on Monday, October 11 at Elkhart General Hospital.

He was born on July 23, 1936, in Ottumwa, IA, to Ernest and Ellen (Pedersen) Fisher. On June 13, 1959, in Hatfield, PA he married Joann D. Helwig, she died June 17, 2020. Surviving are two sons, Chris (Gina) Fisher of Stuttgart, Germany, Michael (Dawn) Fisher of Westfield; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren; sister, Karen (Frank) Hershberger of Goshen; three brothers, Norman (Donna) Fisher of Edwardsburg, MI, Don (Marg) Fisher of Howe, Carl (Pat) Fisher of Elkhart. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and a son, Rodney Fisher.

Thomas graduated with a bachelor's degree from Bryan College in Tennessee and with a master's degree from Westminster Theological Seminary in Pennsylvania. He taught at various Christian institutions including as a professor at Detroit Bible College. Thomas had worked in the lab at T.M. Rubber in Goshen for 20 years, retiring in 2001. He was a member of the American Historical Society, the Elkhart Reformed Presbyterian Church and enjoyed working in the garden.

Visitation will be from 9:30 - 10:30 am on Monday, October 18, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main Street, Middlebury. Funeral services will follow visitation at 10:30 am also at the funeral home. Services will be conducted by Pastor Wade Mann. Burial will be in Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury.
