Andrew "Andy" Gray III, ninety-two years of age, passed away on September 20, 2021.
He was born in Tuscaloosa and was raised on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Andy left the world holding the hand of his beloved wife of sixty-five years, Jacqueline D Gray.
He was a US Navy veteran of the Korean War, an avid sailor, and a man who lived life to the fullest. He obtained his private pilot license at the age of fifty. Andy loved to travel and was an incredible cook. His families fondest memories centered around a dinner table with fabulous food, great wine, and lively conversation. He loved a good party.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Gray Jr and Laura D Gray; his brother, Miles D Gray; a daughter-in-law, Marianne B Tillman; and a grandson, Aaron Gray Butler.
Andy is survived by the love of his life, Jackie Gray; three daughters, Melissa Cartwright (Ethan), Kim Gray, and Cynthia Gray; a son Larry J Tillman; grandchildren, Jeff Tillman (Jessica), James "Andy' Butler, Jacqueline Speake (Joseph), Katie Gaines (Jared), and Christine Giunca (Giovani); and seventeen great grandchildren.
