Sandra Gibson Ethridge Porter, 78 of Columbus, Ga (formerly of Shiloh, Ga) passed peacefully into the Kingdom of Heaven on Monday, December 11. 2017.

Mrs. Porter was born April 23, 1939 in Birmingham, AL the daughter of Noel and Gwendolyn Gibson. She was a graduate of Auburn University and resided for many years in Atlanta, GA. Mrs. Porter was an acclaimed artist. She achieved notoriety as the only private individual ever trade-marked by the Coca Cola company for her iconic, vintage Christmas Coca Cola paintings that have been loved and treasured by many for years.

Mrs. Porter was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Louanne, and her beloved husband, Lowry Ingram Porter, Sr.

Mrs. Porter was a great woman of God. She was a member of the Waverly Hall Baptist Church. Mrs. Porter and her husband (an ordained minister) ministered to those in their community by creating the Shiloh Mission providing many faith based services to the children and needy of the area. They were renowned for their annual children's Bible camp.

Mrs. Porter is survived by her children W. Christopher Ethridge (his wife Anne Fox Ethridge) of VA and Tracy Gwen Ethridge of TX; grandchildren Justin Lee Ethridge and Kristen Noel Ethridge of FL, Brittany Porter and Casey Porter of GA, Ashley Lamb and Rivers Lamb of TX. She is is also survived by her great grandchildren Khloe, Benjamin, Sophie, Blake, Brody, Cameron and Everly; step-children Sherri Porter Culp, Lowry Porter, Jr., Daryl Porter, Denise Porter Burril, and Pamela Porter Chavez; and several step grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Additionally, she is survived by her "grandson's of the heart", Robert Corn of GA, Brent Lashway of FL, and Weston Blankenship of GA.

Mrs. Porter left a legacy of art, love of God and her family, and beautiful memories that will be cherished by many forever.

Graveside services were held for Mrs. Porter on Monday, December 18, 2017 at the Porter Family Cemetery in Shiloh, GA where she was laid to rest with her husband and mother.

The family respectfully asks that any tokens of sympathy and condolences be in the form of charitable donations to your local house of worship, the American Heart Association, the Alzheimer's Association, local SPCA or certified animal rescue organizations.Arrangements were handled by the Cox Funeral Home of Hamilton, GA.
