Born in Terra Haute, IN, Bob spent most of his childhood in Tucson, AZ, before moving to Marysville in 1957. He attended Marysville High School and Chico State University where he majored in political science.
His career in journalism spanned more than 45 years, beginning in his youth as a paperboy for the Appeal Democrat, then as a staff photographer, a copy editor, and ultimately a news editor for the publication. A brilliant writer and editor, Bob had strong convictions about ethics in journalism, which led to his early retirement from the profession in 2004.
He was an avid bowler for many years, participating in multiple bowling leagues in both Yuba City and Stockton.
He is survived by his wife Linda; daughter Becky Perry (Justin); his two "buddies," grandsons Luke and Austin Perry; sisters Mary Ann Kopke (Sterling), Virginia Perry (Steve), and Linda Pippen (Richard); sisters-in-law Patricia Moody and Debra Curry; and numerous nieces and nephews who will always remember him for his sense of humor and his love of ice cream.
He was preceded in death by his parents Homer and Margaret Curry, and his brother James Curry.
No public services are planned at this time.
