Elmer E. Edwards of Parksville, NY, a retired employee for Highway Culvert Corporation for 34 years and a lifelong area resident, died Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Garnet Health Medical Center, Harris, NY. He was 82.
The son of the late Lafeyette V. and Anna E. Conklin Edwards, he was born March 27, 1939 in Liberty, NY.
Elmer was a Charter Member of the IOOB Liberty Chapter 583 and he was a life member for 43 years at the Liberty Elks Lodge #1545. Elmer enjoyed fishing and gardening and spending time with his granddaughters.
Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Eleanor M. "Snookie" Edwards, at home; one daughter, Bonnie Riker and her husband Danny of Parksville, NY; and two granddaughters, Heather Edwards of Swan Lake, NY and Marisa Riker of Parksville, NY.
He was predeceased by six brothers.
Visitation will be Friday October 8, 2021 from 7 to 9 PM in the Harris Funeral Home, West St. at Buckley, Liberty, NY. The Liberty Elks Lodge #1545 will conduct services at 7 PM.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 11 AM in the funeral home. The Rev. Bridgette LeConey will officiate.
Burial will be in the Lew Beach Cemetery, Lew Beach, NY.
