Ronald J. Morris, 73, of Forest City, passed way at 4:20 p.m. on Tuesday, October 5, 2021.
He was born on February 9, 1948, in Peoria, to Merle and Leona (Hedden) Morris. He married Cathie Curry in Kilbourne on November 21, 1970.
Mr. Morris is survived by his wife, Cathie Morris; children, Brad (Sammie) Morris and Lisa (Joe) Forman; grandchildren, Shane Morris and Haley Mortensen and great-grandchildren, Liam Bennett, Ethan Mortensen and Jax Mortensen. Also surviving are his brother, Robert (Charlene) Morris; sisters, Anabelle Smith and Janice Luster and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant son (#: 23920501); two brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Morris served in the U.S. Army Artillery and was a member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church. He worked in parts manufacturing at Caterpillar until his retirement in 2009. He enjoyed working with his hands and liked hunting and fishing. He was a volunteer with the Boy Scouts for many years.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Kilbourne Cemetery. Rev. John Worsham will officiate.
Memorial donations may be made in his name to the Wounded Warrior Project.
