John Roy Morris, 79, of Havana, passed away at Mason District Hospital, in Havana, at 2:50 p.m. on Sunday, February 23, 2020.
He was born February 12, 1941, in Elmwood, to Merle and Leone (Hedden) Morris. He married Linda L. Hallmark on May 8, 1974.
Mr. Morris is survived by his wife, Linda; nine children, Patricia (C.W.) DeWeese, Marvin (Cathy) Crafton, Barbara Crafton, Brian Crafton, Melissa Crafton, Leona Morris, Lori Morris, Michael Morris and John Morris; eight grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Bob Morris and Ron (Cathie) Morris, as well as two sisters, Annabelle Smith and Janice Lester, along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Bobby Crafton; daughter, Betty Lou Morris and grandson, Charlie DeWeese.
Mr. Morris attended church at Havana Assembly of God. Early in his career, he worked for Oscar Mayer in Beardstown. He later worked for Dana Corp. and Wagner Manufacturing in Havana.
Graveside services will be held at Fairview Cemetery, near Bath, IL, on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Randy Green will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Morris family.
