She was born August 31, 1947, in Jacksonville, the daughter of Earl Oliver, Sr. and Anna Louise Conner Scott.
She is survived by three bothers and two sisters, Earl (Janet) Scott, Jr. of Virginia, Carolyn (Dennis) Brannan of Monticello, IN, Mary (Dennis) Drogan of West Port, CT, Bill (Patti) Scott of Virginia, and John Scott of Virginia (deceased wife, Peggie); and several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
Ruth was a 1965 graduate of Virginia High School. She helped her mother with her in-home daycare and later worked in the daycare centers at both First Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville and United Methodist Church in Virginia. She later worked in the dietary department at Walker Nursing Home in Virginia. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Virginia where she was involved in the Service Guild. She enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs and enjoyed baking holiday treats, especially sugar cookies, and giving them to family and friends as gifts. Ruth loved her family, especially her nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
