Monday, October 18th, 1954 - Tuesday, October 5th, 2021
Charles Otto Reed, Jr. (Ott), 66 of McGehee went to be with his Lord on October 5, 2021.
Ott was born on October 18, 1954 in Oak Grove, Louisiana. He was raised in Lake Providence and graduated from Briarfield Academy in 1972.
Ott was preceded in death by his parents, Chizzy and Delma Reed; and his sister, Rebecca DeBessonet. He is survived by his wife, Lea Anne; one son, Nick Reed (Heather) of Tillar; one daughter, Mary Melton (Josh) of Jonesboro; six grandchildren; Tyler Melton, Madalyn Day, Bryce Melton, Abby Williams, Annabella Day and Jayce Williams; nephew, William McMurry of Dallas, and many much-loved cousins.
He was a loving husband, adoring father and a very proud 'Pops'. Ott retired after 37 years with UPS. His work family and customers were a special part of his life. He served his church and community in several capacities; youth baseball coach, Sunday School Superintendent, Pastor Parish Committee, FUMC Board of Trustees, and Boy Scout Leader.
He approached each day with a smile on his face and the joy that comes from knowing Christ. His family was his pride and joy. He loved his friends, his church, and watching his children and grandchildren in anything they did. He enjoyed fishing, whatever sport was in season, road trips with friends, listening to the blues, and just life in general. He never turned down a meal and was happiest spending days on the lake with friends that are family.
Memorial service at 11:00am at the church with Rev. Tom Mullins officiating.
