Ricky Leon Turner was born on August 13, 1972 in Vandalia, IL, the son of Hilton Edward and Mabel Geraldine (Willis) Turner. He married Amanda Fern White on April 10, 2004; together they celebrated 17 years of marriage.
Ricky was employed on and off by Walmart for the past 17 years. He worked in the Auto Care Center; first employed as a tire and lube express (TLE) technician, then as the TLE Service Manager, and finally as TLE writer. He was a member of Crown Point Church, rural Vandalia and former member of the Jaycees- an organization giving back to the local community. Ricky had an avid love for anything outdoors; he enjoyed fishing, four-wheeler riding, camping with his son, Tobin and tinkering with things such as lawn mowers. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a kind hearted man who was always willing and ready to help anyone in need.
He is survived by his wife, Amanda Turner of Vandalia; son, Tobin Edward Lee Turner of Vandalia; brother, Robbie Turner and significant other, Charlene "Joyce" Oldham of Brownstown; sister, Robin and husband Jesse Jackson of Brownstown; sister, Rhonda Turner of Kirbyville, TX; and several nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Heaven's Rae Turner; and an infant sister, Regina Linette Turner.
Interment will be held at Farmer's Cemetery, Shobonier.
