HARSUM or HARSAM, Abraham, convict. He was sentenced to seven years imprisonment on 20 March 1848 in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, England, for night poaching and violence. He was transported aboard the ship MINDEN on 14 October 1851 to Western Australia. Information indicates he was sentenced on false evidence (needs to be confirmed) and was pardoned & compensated. John Hassell employed him as manager of his flocks. He died in his chair at the outstation " Magitup," Gnowangerup district.

John Frederick Tasmin HASSELL, son of Captain John HASSELL, was put under the farming tutorage of Abraham. When John, the younger, was 17 years old, he took over the mantle of managing his father's estate.
