Mr. Frederick Marion Crawford, age 85, husband of Joyce Camby Crawford of 466 Happy Valley Rd., Union, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at the Spartanburg Medical Center.

Mr. Crawford was born in Union, March 24, 1936, a son of the late Oliver Divine Crawford, Sr. and Clara Orr Crawford. He was a graduate of Union High School and Spartanburg Technical College. Mr. Crawford was in the logging industry for over 60 years and co-owner of Crawford Logging with his son Freddie. He was a veteran of the US Army having served during peace time for over six years and was a Mason.

Mr. Crawford was a member of Fairview Baptist Church where he had served as a Sunday School teacher, a member of the choir, and served as Chairman of the cemetery committee. He was involved in dirt track car racing for many years, loved going to various local country music gatherings and enjoyed cutting grass. He played church softball when he was younger.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Joyce are a son, Freddie Crawford (Soapy) of Union; three daughters, Debra Strickland (Phil) of Prosperity, Cheryl Scarborough (Timmy) of Spartanburg and Mary C. Harris of Union; two step-sons, Terry Bobo (Amy) and Harold Bobo (Rose) all of Union; a step-daughter, Karen Knox (Joe) of Union; two brothers, Harold Crawford of Irmo and Donald Crawford of Union; seven grandchildren, Cayse Crawford Jeter (Coleman), Tabitha S. Taneyhill (Steve), Kyle O'Shields (Amber), Katie Crawford (Ryan), Andy Strickland (Ashley), Tommy Strickland (Colby) and Kelsey Simpson (Josh); seven step-grandchildren, Javan Bobo, Dustin Bobo (Jessie), Nick Bobo (Tanya), Eleni Bobo, Kenny Bobo (Nicole), Brandon Knox (Angel), and Kristen Stewart (Frankie); fourteen great-grandchildren, seven step-great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Crawford was predeceased by a grandson, Kelly Crawford, three brothers, O.D. Crawford, Raymond Crawford and James Crawford and a son-in-law, Joey Harris.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Fairview Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Jeff Dean and Rev. Bob Cato. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at the church prior to the services.

Active pallbearers will be Tommy Strickland, Andy Strickland, Kyle O'Shields, Joey Crawford, Coleman Jeter and Cam Crawford.

The following are asked to serve as the honorary escort, member of his Sunday School class, Ray Vinson, Rev. Guy Langston, Cathy Robb, Steve Taneyhill and Josh Simpson.

Due to the current health concerns of COVID 19, protocols for social distancing and wearing mask are asked to be observed.
