Mr. Donald F. Crawford, age 83, of 2243 Buffalo West Springs Hwy, Buffalo. widower of Ann Wilson Crawford passed away Thursday, December 21, 2023, at Spartanburg Restorative Care.
Mr. Crawford was born in Union, October 14, 1940, a son of the late Oliver and Clara Orr Crawford. He was a graduate of Union High School and retired after 34 years from USPS as a postal carrier. Mr. Crawford was also a delivery carrier for the Spartanburg Herald Journal and the Greenville News He was also a member of Fairview Baptist Church where he occasionally played the piano, member of Sunday School, served on the Cemetery Committee and was a former deacon. Mr. Crawford was also a member of the John A. Fant Lodge and then a Lifetime member of the Union #75 Lodge. He served as Past Master several times and was a member of the Hejaz Shriner Hillbilly Clan.
Surviving are a daughter, Becky Compton and husband Tim and a son, Donald Crawford, Jr and wife Debbie, all of Buffalo. His surviving brother, Harold, lives in Irmo He is also survived by grandchildren, Jessica Nicole Cohen, Jamie Cohen (Shanna) and Brandon Cudd (Elizbeth). Surviving great grandchildren are Nicholas Foster, Abby Jenkins, Matthew Troy Cohen, Lily Cohen, Gabriel Cudd, Lanie Cudd and Evie Massey. Surviving extended family are Cathy Patrick, and Chastidy Massey. Mr. Crawford was predeceased by brothers O.D., Raymond, James, Marion Crawford and grandson Johnathon Matthew Cohen.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 23,2023 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Robert Catoe, Rev. Gerald Eaves, and Jamie Cohen. Burial will follow at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery with Masonic Rites.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 PM Saturday at the chapel prior to the services.
Active pallbearers will be Jamie Cohen. Jason Compton, Mike Moore, Cam Crawford, Joey Crawford and Nicholas Foster Honorary pallbearers, Charlie Kelly, Dr, Jeff Craft with his nurses Catherine and Crystal are asked to sit as a group with retired US Postal workers.
