Robert "Bob" Dale Woods, 89, of Nashville, passed away on Sept. 27, 1921. Bob was born on Sept. 1, 1932 in Belmont, Indiana to Felix Woods Sr. and Velma (Floyd) Woods. He was the eldest of 11 children.

Bob proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956. Upon discharge, he was in the Air Force Reserve and worked at Bakalar Air Force Base in Columbus.

For many years, he worked as a heavy equipment operator in Indianapolis and was a long-time member of I.U.O.E. Union 103. He started his own business in the 80's, RD Woods Excavating & Grading. Bob took great pride in his work and was responsible for digging many of the graves in Brown County of the past 30+ years. He retired in 2017 at the age of 85.

Bob was a life-long Democrat, he served as Democrat precinct committeeman for Jackson 3 Township and as a county commissioner. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #135 for over 50 years. Twice he served as Worshipful Master. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite.

Bob loved his family and enjoyed sharing stories about growing up in Brown County and his Air Force years with them.

He is survived by his wife, Lois (Roberts) Woods, whom he married on July 25,1959; their children Kim Woods-Owens (JP Owens), Lisa Keaton (Doug) and Robert "Tyler" Woods (Brenda); grandchildren Mary Collier, Katelyn Dodge, Michaela Owens, Rob Woods, Jacob Woods, Jeremy Minarik, Thomas Harden, Anthony Harden, Joe Keaton, Danielle Melton, Katie Woods, and Kelly Woods; and great-grandchildren, Adri Fonseca, Madison Collier, Emma Collier, Ethan Collier, Antonio Dodge, Joshua Woods, Aiden Minarik, Connor Minarik, Liam Minarik, Maggie Kay Harden, Kyara Keaton, Ira Keaton, Autumn Fleming, Grace Keaton, Cayden Melton, Carlie Woods, and Bryant Harden.

He is also survived by his siblings William (Buck) Woods (Therese), Alice Hobbs (Clyce) Feelix Woods JR. (Marylin), Linda McCloud (Bob), Susie Bartlett (Randy), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Jackie Woods, Carolyn Knight, Joe Woods, Donnie Woods and Jeannie Woods.

Visitation hours were held Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021 at Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home in Nashville. A funeral service was Friday, Oct 1, 2021 at Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home. Bob was laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nashville, Indiana following the funeral service.
