She married John Willenberg on June 25, 1963, in St. Louis, and he survives in the home. They lived in Hawaii for some time, but moved back to Missouri to attend college, where she gave birth to twin boys, on June 20, 1973.
She was a passionate nutritionist, working at the University of Missouri Extension for 25 years until she retired in 2005. She wrote the initial canning guide sheets for the State of Missouri, Food Safety.
Barbara was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was steadfast in her Baha'i Faith, loved animals, was a master gardener, quilter, rug hooker, artist, and painter.
