D. Elneda Good Ungard, 96, Lewisburg
LEWISBURG--D. Elneda Good Ungard, 96, a former resident of Main Street, Montandon, since 1938, passed away Sunday, Dec. 18, 2005 at RiverWoods, Lewisburg, where she was a guest since November 2004.
She was born September 25, 1909, in Tylersville, Clinton County, the third of eight children of the late Howard and Sadie (Day) Caris. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Nevin T. Good, in 1964 after 35 years of marriage and by her second husband, Paul E. Ungard, in 1986 after nearly 17 years of marriage.
Elneda was employed in central supply at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg, for 13 years, retiring in 1978. She was an active member for many years at Montandon Baptist Church, where she served on the finance committee and was a member of the Dorcas Circle. Mrs. Ungard was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 394, Lewisburg, for more than 50 years.
She enjoyed traveling and was a member of the Ramblers Club. Elneda was also a skilled seamstress who often made clothing for her family and was known for her fine embroidery.
Surviving were one daughter and son-in-law, Lucille and Robert Hobbes Sr. of Tunkhannock; one son and daughter-in-law, William H- and Shirley Good Sr. of Montandon; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; one brother, Clifford Caris of rural Lewisburg; and ore sister, Shirley Smith of West Milton. In addition to her first and second husbands, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Shirley Kling and Jean Dieffenbach; three sisters, Rhoda Woodruff, Noreen Fox and Delphie Hoffman; and two brothers, Harry and Kenneth Caris.
Funeras services were held at the Gary H. Cronrath Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis Streets, Lewisburg, with her pastor, the Reverend Ron Wagner, and her two grandsons, the Reverend Larry N. Hobbes of West Lafayette, Indiana, and the Reverend Wayne R. Hobbes. of Valencia, PA, officiating.
Burial was in Lewisburg Cemetery.
