Mr. Piazza, age 61 of Simmesport, passed away on Monday, September 20, 2021 at Opelousas General Hospital.
David was a loving, stubborn, adventurous family orientated man. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing/listening to good music, and eating good food. He enjoyed growing fresh vegetables and making fresh meats. He was passionate about history, family genealogy, nature, and wildlife. He is known by many for his artistic and carpentry skills. His family and friends will always remember his heart of gold. He was willing to help anyone he knew. David never met a stranger. He will be dearly missed by anyone who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Raymond, Sr. and Adeline Meyers Piazza; sister, Francis Armand and brother, Samuel Piazza.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Laura Sparacino Piazza of Simmesport; his children, David Lemuel Piazza, Jr. and fiance' Jamie of Simmesport and Brandi Elizabeth Piazza Crane-LeDoux and husband Joshua of Ville Platte; his siblings, Patricia Dauzat (Oralee) of Centerpoint, Raymond Piazza, Jr. (Darlene) of Marksville, Ronald Piazza (Florence) of Baton Rouge, Flora Vayda (Lewis) of Lucedale, MS, Jake Piazza (Lisa) of Plaucheville and Nellie Saffell (Aaron) of Locust Grove, OK; sister-in-law, Cheryl Piazza of Plaucheville; his grandchildren, Serenity Dubroc, Josephine Crane-LeDoux and Ruby Crane-LeDoux; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a wake service at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
