Peter Pixler Service: Civil War, 48th Regiment, Company I. He was mustered in 20 Oct 1864, at Michigan City, Laporte County, Indiana and mustered out 15 July at Louisville, Kentucky.
He was born 15 Jul 1832 in Ohio and died 30 Jul 1917, Otter Township, Kiowa County, Roosevelt, Oklahoma. He is buried in the Roosevelt Cemetery.
He was the son of Henry and Mary Pixler who had the following children: Henry, Margaret, Elizabeth, Jane, Peter and Louisa. Henry's 2nd wife was Phebe Degamio/Degaimer, married 16 Mar 1850 at Wyandot County, Ohio, children were Simon, Melvina and Phebe.
I'm sure Phebe must have been a widow when she married Henry and some of these children are from another marriage. Peter married Eliza Ann Hipsher 20 Oct 1852 at VanWert County, Ohio. To this union were born the following children: Henry, Sylvia Jane, Sarah Ann, Amos Astrom, Angeline Clestia, George Washington, Mary Elizabeth, William, Emily Alice, Edith Ann and Elmer Daniel.
