September 16, 1951 - September 7, 2021

Jimmy Lee Davis of New Haven, CT, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Genesis Nursing Home.

He was born in New Haven, CT on September 16, 1951, the only son of Leroy and Gladys Davis. He graduated from Wilbur Cross High School.

Jimmy was divorced. Jimmy loved his family dearly and was very close to his nieces who loved him back. He loved good home-cooked food and was a frequent guest at his sisters' homes whenever they called. Jimmy was also a dapper dresser and loved to shop in his retirement.

Jimmy was employed for 40+ years at Pratt & Whitney as a machinist and retired in 2016.

Jimmy was a spiritual person who loved the Lord, but he grew up loving, singing and mimicking the Temptations (and was known to sound like them).

Jimmy leaves to mourn, his sons, Telly Davis (Sarai) and Jimmy Davis, Jr. of North Carolina; grandchildren, Jahmai Bailey, Nigeria and Shilo Davis and Micaiah Davis-Deer; stepmother, Leola Davis; sisters, Roxie Gamble (Frankhe), Debra Fleming (Alphonso), Linda Bray, Delores Cloud of North Carolina, Mary Henderson Levy (Richard), Dolores Shaw (Ernest), Rosalind McKinnie (Walter) and Sharon James-Boyd (Eugene); brothers, Selven Parson, Marvin Henderson (Carol), and Leroy Henderson; and his many nieces, nephews and friends.

Jimmy was predeceased by his mother and father, Pastor Leroy Davis and Gladys Davis; sister, Mary Walker; and brothers, John, Alvin and Anthony Stevenson.
