Obituary from Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, Shreveport LA:
Dolores was born December 17, 1933, in Shreveport, Louisiana into the family of Dallas W. Greene, Sr. and Eunice Lester Greene. She was the youngest of four children, with three older brothers of whom she adored and was so proud. Dolores went home to be with the Lord on September 18, 2021 at the age of 87.

She was a graduate of Fair Park High School where she was a R.O.T.C. Sponsor, a delegate to Pelican Girls' State, cheerleader, as well as a senior class officer. She attended Louisiana Tech where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. She married her high school sweetheart, Roy Evans, after his graduation from Tech. They had two beautiful children, David and Debbie.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who dedicated her life to the Lord and to her family, supporting her husband through his ministry of music, being a part of choirs, bell choirs, and directing children's choirs, the latter being her heart's joy and pleasure. Many of those in her children's choirs are singing in adult choirs in other areas today.

Dolores was preceded in death by her son, David Randall Evans, her parents Dallas W. Sr. and Eunice Lester Greene, brother Dallas W. Greene, Jr. and wife Alice, Bobby L. Greene and wife Doris, and William "Billy" Greene and wife Mittie.

She is survived by her loving husband Roy D. Evans, Jr, daughter Debbie Wood and husband Curtis, grandchildren Kyle Wood and wife Jessica, Kaycee Leigh Wood Von Essen and husband Mike, Ashley Evans and daughter-in-law Kim Evans. She is also survived by five great grandchildren Mika Alexander, Henry and Lilly Wood, and Reiss and Ethan Von Essen, and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Dolores will be held Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108, followed by a graveside service at 2:00 PM.

The family of Dolores Evans would like to express sincere appreciation to all Kindred Synergy Home Health staff, especially Melissa Garrett and Veronica Attaway, for their loving care, Dr. Eric Smith, Dr. David Dies, Jeremy Davis, Dr. William Haynie and his nurse Corey, and Dr. Himanshu DeSai for their personal care during Dolores' long illness.
