Leo Jackson, 83, Hobart, died February 14, 2005 in Clinton.


He was born January 25, 1922 in Cold Springs, Oklahoma to Francis Carrol and Lona Evelyn Brannon Jackson.


He married Virginia Ross White May 25, 1947.


Jackson was a wheat and cotton farmer in the Roosevelt area. He was a member of the Con. 8 Friends Church. He served in the Navy in the South Pacific during World War II.


Survivors include his wife Virginia, Hobart; four sons, Ross Jackson, Irving, Texas; Terry Jackson DeKalb, Missouri; Mike Jackson, Hobart; and Gregg Jackson, Hobart; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one brother Willie Jackson, Roosevelt; and four sisters, Mozell Schulz and husband Julius, Topeka, Kansas; Maxine Rhoads and husband Eugene, Tulsa; Eva Jean Hays and husband Neil, Liberal, Kansas; and Leta Faye Walkemeyer and husband Roy, Hugoton, Kansas.


He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.


Services were February 18, 2005 at the First Baptist Church, Roosevelt, with Rev. Justin Chapman officiating. Burial followed in Roosevelt Cemetery under direction of Hackney-Gish Funeral Home, Hobart.
