Francis was an avid outdoorsman for all of his life including hunting and fishing with many trips with his sons and co-workers to hunting camp and the trout streams. He was a member of the Middletown Anglers and Hunters Club. He was active for many years as a leader of Boy Scout Troop 594 and a cubmaster at Seven Sorrows prior to that. Francis was a 3rd Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus as well as a member of Seven Sorrows Church.
Francis was well loved by all who knew him. He seemed to know more jokes than a professional comedian and was always willing to share them to make people laugh. He was also on the regular comedy touring circuits of all the local diners where he loved to have breakfast every morning especially the Brownstone Café and the 230 Café. Francis was also very generous with both his time and his financial support to many people over the years and was willing to help other people in need. Francis was an excellent cook and baker and enjoyed his time in the kitchen. He also enjoyed gardening especially after he retired.
Francis is pre-deceased by his father, John Kasper and his mother, Elizabeth Kasper, sister Evelyn Yost, nephew John Mark Frye as well as brother-in-law John Frye all of Mahanoy City and an older brother John Kasper of Whitehouse Station, NJ. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joan Kasper (Michaels) formerly of Mahanoy City. His 2 sons, Francis Kasper (partner Taffy Deimler) of Middletown and Jim Kasper (wife Donna Kasper) of Upper St. Clair, PA. His grandson Jason Kasper and wife Natasha Kasper (Mrakovich) of Middletown and great grandson Aiden Kasper (mother Vicky Herrarte of Los Angeles, CA) and grandson Quinton Miller and granddaughter Hailey Miller of Upper St. Clair. He is also survived by his sisters Arlene Blew of Elizabethtown, PA and Betty Lou Frye of Mahanoy City as well as brother-in-laws Paul Yost of Mahanoy City and William Blew of Elizabethtown, PA. He is also survived by numerous nieces, great nieces and nephews.
He went to meet his Savior with his wife by his side. He will be missed by many people in Middletown and all who knew him. In lieu of flowers that family asks that donations be made in Francis' name to Hospice of Central PA 1320 Linglestown Rd, Harrisburg, PA 17110. 717-732-1000
